Andy Abraham is set to star in Stephen Schwartz’s musical Godspell, an award-winning production that will be delivered in a one-off West End staging in May this year, with proceeds from the show supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
David Essex, who played Jesus and became star of the original West End production 42 years ago, will introduce the show. Andy will join Les Misérable star Zoe Tyler alongside a live band and a 32-strong choir led by members of the Maida Vale Singers and the American Musical Theatre Academy.
Andy will play the part of Judas and is looking forward to raising funds for a fantastic cause as well as featuring in a world renowned show.
Godspell, a modern day musical recreation of St Matthews Gospel, begins with John the Baptist gathering new followers and concludes with Jesus’ crucifixion in a junkyard.
Godspell will be staged on 19 May 2014 at the Lyric Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue. To buy tickets to this exclusive, one-off performance visit Godspell in concert
