Andy Abraham and his magnificent 13-piece big band kicked off their History of the Big Bands tour at the Buxton Royal Opera House last night to a packed auditorium who left the iconic Derbyshire theatre swinging their hips and tapping their toes to the sound of jazz greats.

Introducing the history of big band and performing some of the greatest swing vocal numbers ever, Andy Abraham impressed the audience with his soaring voice and swinging style!

The Barrison’s Swing Band was led by Brian Hill and featured wonderful solos from the hugely talented orchestra including Greg Heath on Saxophone and Steve Vintner on drums.

In an action-packed and lively show, highlights included Andy’s beautiful and accomplished performance of Mr. Bojangles and A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square and the band’s unforgettable Glenn Miller Medley, which paid tribute to one of jazz music’s all time greats.

The next date in the tour is the 23rd March when Andy will perform at Croydon’s Fairfield Halls. For more information about all the dates in the tour and to book tickets, visit “here“.
